| Description: |
Inspired by Sandra Cisneros' notion of those snippets of detail or experience as "buttons," this gallery contains those bits of your stories that inspire you to write more and the rest of us to read further. Buttons may take any of many forms: found writing/art, lists, lyrics, letters, love notes, texts, emails, honey-dos, instant messages, incomplete scenes, dialogues, diablogs, doodles, fliers, photos, messages, micro-fiction, music, manifestos, six-word memoirs, poems, posters, anything goes. |
All works, if not original, must be submitted with the permission of the author (if known).
Works may be submitted in .pdf, .txt, .mp3, or .doc form.
Please limit works to no more than 5 pages; when it comes to buttons, less is more.
You are eligible to submit one composition (or a link to a composition already posted on the Internet) per gallery. You should not submit the same composition to more than one gallery. When you click "contribute my writing now," you will be prompted for information about your piece and about yourself. You can share this information with readers through the site search engine, or to keep it sheltered from searches. The more information you allow to be public, the more readers for your piece.
Please visit Gallery Guidelines prior to submitting a contribution to the National Gallery of Writing.
