Description:	Reading can inform our mind and touch our heart, regardless of whether the reading material is children's books, adult fiction or nonfiction, stories, or poems. The International Reading Association's gallery invites you to "Write about Reading," sharing details about a book, story, or poem that has made a difference in your life.

The mission of the International Reading Association is to promote reading by advancing the quality of literacy instruction and research worldwide. IRA supports literacy professionalsand high levels of literacy by:

Improving the quality of reading instruction
Disseminating research and information about reading
Encouraging the lifetime reading habit
